While Microsoft has been pushing XP users to go to Windows 8.1, the better choice might be going to Windows 7. It won’t be as jarring of an experience. You can get the OEM Version of Windows 7 for under $100, but do note that it’s not the upgrade version. You will need to do a clean install.
